$4500 for a supercharged Cobaltalier is tempting. However, I can't get past the thought that they replaced a Cavalier.

Don't forget that the Cobalt SS held the Nürburgring record for FWD production cars for some time, before Renault and other European hot hatch builders started crushing it with fully-caged "production" cars (which are absolutely fantastic and cooler than a Cobalt, but kind of cheating when it comes to lap times).

Stock block will hold up to about 450 hp no problem. my friend had an Ion redline that ran 11's with a horrible 60ft time.

Pass.

Car doesn't have LSD. If you're going to pick one up, make sure it has the G85 package. Easy way to tell is if it has Recaro seats, but that only works for 05 and 06, they stopped using them mid-way through 07. Check the option-plate-thing in the trunk if you are checking a car in person, just to be safe. Since it's easy to change seats around.

Also, the fact it says it has an AUX input is suspect. It must have been added afterwards, which would lean to other parts of the car being modded. I would lean towards either one that is still completely stock, or one that is still modded so you can at least know what's done.

That setup would be quick, but it's nowhere near 450hp.

The blocks can hold that, true. But not on a SC setup. If you want anything over 350 you're going to have to turbo swap.

Two separate statements, he wasn't running 450 hp. Just high 11's I forget exactly what he was dyno-ing at.

I mean if you fabbed an 8-71 Weiand blower you could, not quite sure how you would see where you are going though...

Though you might be able to put an M90 or larger Eaton style on it with an air/water intercooler in a fabbed manifold.

I remember there were a few M90 cars back in the day. They still didn't do much more than 350.

The popular blower upgrade is the Harrop TVS. Which also still have trouble hitting 350, and they need all the supporting mods like meth to get there.

Pretty much if you want high HP out of the LSJ, you turbo.

I'm content with my ~320ish (never been dynoed, but it's around there) SC setup.
